Jakarta has a wide spectrum of activities that kids can engage in- from cycle tours to amusement parks, this city has it all. The first one being Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. The park is a culture based recreational area located in East jakarta. It is a synopsis of Indonesian culture, with every province encapsulated in separate pavilions with examples of Indonesian vernacular architecture, clothing, dances and traditions. Apart from that, there is a lake with a miniature of the archipelago in the middle of it, cable cars, museums, Keong Emas IMAX cinema, a theater called the Theater of My Homeland (Teater Tanah Airku) and other recreational facilities which make TMII one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. Kite museum – The Kites Museum of Indonesia (Museum Layang-Layang Indonesia) is a museum in Pondok Labu, South Jakarta. It is the first kites museum in Indonesia and Its collection includes more than 600 kites. There are plenty of fun workshops you can do in the museum. There are workshops on kite making, kite painting, making ceramics, umbrella painting, painting batik on ceramics, decorating        t-shirts and much more. These kinds of workshops are great for small kids.

Taman Wisata Alam Angke Kapuk– the mangroves at Pantai Indah Kapuk. You can walk along the alleyways, click photographs in front of the inns and the waterside of this forest. If interested, lessons are also imparted on how mangroves are planted and farmed and taking care of the mangroves later on. You can also take a boat ride or enjoy a view of the breathtaking sunset. For those who aren’t satisfied spending just the day at these mangroves, can rent out a cottage, villa or camp overnight on the camping grounds on the land of the PIK mangroves.

Taman Impian Jaya Ancol – this sprawling piece of land holds a vast number and a variety of themed parks and attractions. You will need more than a week of day trips to be able to cover every single ride, activity that this attraction center offers.
Ancol dreamland– a beautiful beach which is a beach tourist destination in the city of Jakarta. Visitors to the Ancol area can enjoy the fresh atmosphere in the Lagoon Beach, Festival, Indah, Beach Pool and Carnaval areas, as well as Dream Lake, which is approximately 6.5 km long. Dufan- Dunia Fantasi-an outdoor entertainment center, Dufan is also the largest physical edutainment area in Indonesia that pampers visitors with Fantasy Around the World, through high-tech rides, which are divided into 9 (Nine) regions, namely Indonesia, Jakarta, Asia, Europe, America, Greece, Hikayat, Kalila and Fantasy Lights.
Atlantis Water Adventures is a thematic water recreation park with the concept of ancient civilizations and cities in the Mediterranean region which were lost due to volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, an adventure to a lost world by wading through nine types of pools and a variety of fun and challenging rides.
Ocean Dream Samudra is the largest oceanarium unit consisting of dolphin performances, sea lion performances, various animal shows, animal displays, marine and freshwater fish aquariums and parks which are habitats for various kinds of birds.
Allianz Eco Park follows the concept of imparting knowledge about nature alongwith recreation. Cycling tours
Amongst others, the crowd favorite tours to do with kids are the cycling tours around town. . 
Ragunan zoo has cycles and even tandem bikes for rent. You can rent them out and cycle around the zoo surrounded by greenery and animals.
Car free Sunday is a space for the public to walk, jog, cycle,and many other activities. Almost carnavalish in nature, you will also find many local food stalls, street performers and artists along these roads closed to vehicular movement. 
Another option is cycling within the perimeter of the Monas monument building and this is something that many locals and expats schedule into their weekend day out.
